A Damascus steel knife with a patterned blade and a dark handle, partially embedded in soil.

Carbon steel/Damascus knives will last for generations with very simple care and maintenance. Here are a few tips for caring for your new knife.

Hand wash(or at least rise & wipe dry) the blade between uses. Carbon steel can react to acidic foods and keeping it clean will help prevent this. Leaving moisture or food on blade will lead to rust.

Hand Wash

The high heat and excessive moisture will cause damage!

Do Not Put It In The Dishwasher!!

Over time the blade will develop a patina on the steel and can actually help protect the steel from rust. This is the blade telling its unique story!

Always make sure the knife is dry before storing. Use a drop or two of the included oil on each side of the blade and rub it along the surface if storing for long periods.
